Bystanders pulled a motorist from a blue SUV after it rolled multiple times on Pomonal Road, near the Stawell Racecourse on Thursday about 4.30pm.
Stawell State Emergency Service unit controller Alan Blight said there were no persons inside the vehicle when they arrived.
“Bystanders have taken the male driver out and taken him to hospital in a private vehicle,” he said.
“It is nice of them to help but people need to remember the mechanisms of a collision.
“The care has rolled more than once and there could be every possibility of neck and joint injuries, so an Ambulance must be called in this instance.”
It is not yet known what the vehicle collided with.
There were no other injured persons.
