From mid-December through to Christmas, volunteers were wrapping all types of presents in exchange for a gold coin donation.
Horsham East Rotary Club member Penny Flynn said the money raised was outstanding and exceeded their expectations.
The project raised $1000 this year.
While the service asked for a gold coin donation, Miss Flynn said people were more than generous in their donations.
“We have never made that much and it’s a fabulous outcome,” she said.
Miss Flynn said the money raised would support a variety of the club’s projects.
“The money will help the club in their student exchange program, various local projects and international women’s day event next year,” she said.
Over the 15 days, between 300 and 400 presents were wrapped up to put under a Christmas tree.
“People were bring us perfume, chocolates, pot plants and handbags to wrap,” Miss Flynn said.
“A lot were Kris Kringle presents and presents to put under the Kmart wishing tree.”
