The performing arts company will present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Horsham Town Hall in May.
Producer Luke Mitton said the show was an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, which was based on the Bible story of Joseph.
“It follows the life of Joseph, who is a dreamer and can foresee the future,” he said.
Mr Mitton said the show was a good step for the Horsham Arts Council following its previous production Rent.
“We thought that following Rent, which was a small production, it would be good to do a family-oriented show that was more upbeat,” he said.
Mr Mitton said the show’s cast had already been chosen after a long audition process.
“It was a very big process,” he said.
“We had three nights in a row of auditions, plus weekends, and then two nights of callbacks.
“We were rapt wit the response we got from performers and we had more people audition than what we needed, so unfortunately we had to say no to a few people.
Mr Mitton said more than 60 people would be involved in the show, including 32 children.
“The children will be split into two groups of 16 though and they will alternate shows,” she said.
“This will give everyone a go and it’s good for their wellbeing too – with so many shows, being involved in a production can be demanding hobby for children.”
The role of Joseph will be played by Beau Ladlow, the narrator will be played by Jessica Durant and Jacob will be played by Jack Janetzki.
The production will open on May for 10 shows.
Mr Mitton said it was going to be a big project.
“We start rehearsals on January 29 and it’s going to be a long season,” Mr Mitton said.
“We are all looking forward to it though – it’s a really fun musical and I hope that Horsham enjoys it.”
