The Mudlarks are sitting on top of the ladder and are already ensured they will get an opportunity to defend their title in the one-day grand final, but who they will play is still to be determined.
Colts are the likely side to face off with Lubeck-Murtoa in the early March final but could be overtaken if results do not go their way in the final two one-day rounds.
Both the Bullants and the Saints are six points adrift of the second-placed Colts with both teams guaranteed at least six points due to byes in rounds nine and 10.
The Colts side has a far superior percentage and a win against the luckless Jung Tigers should be enough to secure a place in the final unless results go particularly awry in round 10.
The Tigers have yet to break through for a win this season and based on the side’s batting performances so far it is difficult to see it happening against a strong Colts bowling attack on Saturday.
Liam Jakobi, Dylan Arnott, Beau Purchase and the rest of the Colts’ batting lineup would be confident of scoring enough runs for their bowlers to defend after being upset by the Bullants prior to the break.
In order for the Bullants to stay in the hunt for a place in the one-day final, Kent Hair, Ben Anson and Jordan McDonald must all fire against Lubeck-Murtoa.
It is something that has proved easier said than done this season with Craig Wilson, Heath Lang and Shannon Reddie leading the bowling attack well.
Wilson and Shannon have also been influential with the bat while Graeme Reddie has destroyed opposition attacks more than once in the first half of the season.
