After the pool stage the team had recorded two wins and one loss and will face Metropolitan-Inner East in a quarter final on Thursday with a semi-final place up for grabs.
Coach Jeff Rosolin said the team had been having a good week.
“We haven’t had a lot of success in the past so it’s good to be in the top half of the ladder,” he said.
The side could not chase down its target of 176 against Metropolitan-North West on Wednesday at Windy Hill.
A strong 92-run fourth-wicket partnership set the game up for Metropolitan-North West as the side moved from 3-46 to 4-138.
Donald cricketer Nathaniel Holmes-Brown could not break through for a wicket in his seven overs.
He finished with figures of 0-31 as teammate Todd White caused havoc through the middle and lower order on his way to claiming 5-23.
The Waves struggled to build partnerships in reply and were bundled out for 124 in the 45th over.
The result followed on from a 70-run one win against Metropolitan West on day one, when Holmes Brown claimed 4-13, and a comfortable 79-run win on day two against Mallee-Murray.
