Manager Paul Christopher said about 10,000 sheep and lambs were sold at the second sale of the year on Wednesday.
“Our first sale was quiet – farmers were still harvesting or on holidays,” he said.
“But last week was really good – if I could get 10,000 sheep and lambs at every sale of the year, I would be over the moon.” Mr Christopher said the saleyard aimed for between 10,000 to 15,000 head of livestock each week.
He said overall prices remained strong, with a pen of merino lambs selling for $223 a head on Wednesday.
“Lambs particularly sold really well,” he said.
