The statewide competition features a series of qualifiers in regional, metropolitan and peninsula areas.
Teams of two compete in men’s, women’s and mixed categories, with winners from the qualifiers taking part in the state final in Sorrento on March 19 and 20.
66 players registered for Horsham’s regional qualifier, with a clear sunny day and a light breeze making it a perfect day to play golf.
Golfers travelled from Stawell, Hamilton and Port Fairy for the competition, while plenty of local players also joined in for the event.
Horsham Golf Club captain Peter Jackson said in the lead up to the tournament that it was great the club could welcome a state competition.
“We are given the opportunity to put our course in front of everyone who wants to play and show what a great facility we have,” he said.
