Creek helped lift his team to a memorable victory, with the Sydney Kinds leading for much of the game.

Adelaide took the lead in the final minutes to take the win 104-101.

Mitch Creek was instrumental in leading his team to the win, with his scoring display in stark contrast to his previous game.

In Adelaide’s Thursday night win against Cairns, Creek did not take a single shot.

Against Sydney on Saturday night, Creek was unstoppable, shooting 11 from 12 shots from the field and seven from eight from the free-throw line.

Creek said it was an important game to win. 

“We knew there was a lot on the line, and Sydney are a great team,” he said.

“I was lucky enough to go out there and get a few early buckets and get some good passes. It was nice to contribute to the team and come away with a big win.”

Creek was struggling with injury at quarter-time after injuring his back.

“I hurt my back late in the first quarter and thought I might be done for the game,” he said. “I couldn’t stand up and I was in a world of pain. I rolled the dice and played through it and the ball kept finding its way into my hands in the right place at the right time.”

Creek also managed four rebounds and two assists as Adelaide registered their fifth win in a row.

The 36ers remain undefeated so far in 2018 and sit fourth on the ladder.

The win has kept them within touching distance of the New Zealand Breakers in third spot and the Perth Wildcats in second.
