On the first day of the tournament, Haven’s juniors played on an outside court and did a showcase of their skills.
The kids have been playing with the Hot Shots program at Haven and were also able to watch some matches and walk around the grounds.
Rafael Del Real was one of the kids lucky enough to head to the grand slam and he said it was a fun day.
“I got to play on the court, I went on the Ferris wheel and walked around,” he said.
I went up on the balcony and saw the players warming up.

Rafael said his favourite tennis player was Rafael Nadal, for obvious reasons.
“He has the same name as me,” he said.
On Thursday, it will be Horsham Lawn’s turn to experience the Australian Open, with more than 25 junior tennis players heading to Melbourne.
The club’s president Andrew Dorman said everyone was excited for the day.
“When we told the club we had the opportunity, everyone wanted to go,” he said.
