Senior constable Karyleen Hateley said there were two incidents, the first incident on Monday about 7pm and the second theft happened on Tuesday at 8pm.
Senior constable Hateley said the petrol station staff notified police with vehicle details and both drivers were apprehended.
The driver from Monday night was charged and granted bail to appear at the Sunshine Magistrates Court on April 23.
Senior constable Hateley said she was not notified on the outcome of the second theft.
She said both parties appeared to be driving through from Adelaide to Melbourne.
