Wimmera students received their university offers on Tuesday.
The Victorian Tertiary Admission Centre revealed that 11 prospective students were made course offers at Federation University’s Wimmera campus compared to last year’s seven.
Federation University head of Wimmera campus Geoff Lord said he was pleased with the number of first round offers released.
He said the numbers were as expected and were due to increase closer to the start of the academic year.
“These numbers are due to increase as we head into the start of the academic year – particularly in the Diploma of Nursing – as the campus continues to receive direct applications well into the new year,” he said.
“We are on track to meet our expectations.”
The Wimmera campus offered programs and courses in nursing, leadership and management, plumbing, kitchen management, electrotechnology, light vehicle technology and community services this year.
Nine students were offered a position in the nursing course, which Mr Lord expects to rise in upcoming months.
Two students were also offered positions to study social science and leadership and management.
Mr Lord said 400 students would return to the campus to continue their studies.
He reminded students interested in studying at university that it was not too late to apply at the Wimmera campus.
He said students could contact the university to discuss their study options.
