No fires can be lit in the open air in the region between one minute past midnight on January 20 and 11.59pm on January 20.
The Country Fire Authority has advised residents that the fire danger rating for the Wimmera was severe with a hot day forecast.
People living in areas at risk of fire are advised to activate their bush fire plan.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a very hot and mostly sunny day with daytime temperatures reaching the low 40 degrees.
There will be southerly winds at 15 to 20 kilometres an hour becoming light before dawn then becoming south to southeasterly 25 to 35 kilometres an hour early in the morning.
