After winning the toss and batting first at Minyip, the Blue Panthers made a shaky start.
They lost Matt Downer and Adam Carter early as Jarred Combe, 1-17, and Eddie Landwehr, 2-22, proved difficult to get a away.
True to form, the side’s middle order worked its way into the game as Dan Clark complied 34 during good partnerships with Ryan Metelmann and Dan Schaper.
Schaper, 40, fell shortly after Clark’s dismissal and it was left to Brent Hudson, 33, to team with the lower order to allow the side to reach 9-160.

The home side’s bowling attack was near full strength for the first time this season as Clint Midgley came in for his first game.
It was Metelmann and Hudson doing the damage early as Homers struggled to get going.
Metelmann bowled straight his full allocation of overs straight out to finish with 3-26 while Hudson nabbed 2-26 in a six-over spell.
Midgley the cleaned up with 3-12 before Homers were all out for just 66 in the 22nd over.
A barrage of fielding errors from both teams was hard not to notice at Horsham City Oval as the Horsham Saints completed a 126-run win against Laharum.
The return of Ben Sawyer, 23, to the top of the Saints batting lineup had the club excited but it was captain Tony Caccaviello and Austin Smith who set the side up for a good score.
The pair put together a brisk 71-run partnership, which included multiple balls being dispatched over the grandstand.
Smith fell for 49 but Caccaviello continued on to 69 with the support of Josh Hedt, 33, as the side ended 8-249.
Damien Bunworth also led the way with the bat for Laharum after claiming 3-43. He survived several chances on his way to reaching a score of 51 before eventually being trapped in front by Craig Klemm, 3-13.
Bunworth did not received enough support. His dismissal came with the team’s score on 90 and it then collapsed to be all out for 123 in the 34th over.
Middle order runs from Sam Polack and Elliot Braithwaite were not enough to lift Blackheath-Dimboola to a first win of the season.
The side batted first at home against Jung Tigers with captain Harry Young making 31 at the top of the order despite losing partners early. Polack, 39, and Braithwaite, 54, steadied the innings in order to reach 8-174.
Braithwaite claimed two early scalps in Jung’s reply but it was all Brett Jensz and Angus Adams from then on.
The pair each hit 77 in an unbeaten 163-run partnership to guide the side to victory with nine overs to spare.
