LEADERS of Warracknabeal Secondary College are looking forward to learning new skills this year.

The school has elected year 12 student Grace Phelan as captain, year 11 student Patrick Lindsay as a leader and year 9 student Laura Daniel as middle school leader.

Grace said being a captain was a good opportunity.

“Through previous leadership roles I have learnt it is something I would enjoy and could learn from,” she said.

The leaders will attend school council meetings and speak at school assemblies throughout the year.

Grace said she would also be the leader of the school’s student representative council.

“It is important for students to take on leadership roles as it gives them an opportunity to develop as a person and be the voice for their peers,” she said.
