Safety insight | Horsham East Ladies Probus

Fifty nine Horsham East Ladies Probus Club members gained an insight into Safe Drive and road safety at the club’s February meeting.

Visitor, Caroline Lighton, of Hobart, joined Probus members at the RSL Rooms in MacLahlan Street, to hear Wimmera’s RoadSafe executive officer David Rule bring members up to date on road safety issues.

Mr Rule gave a presentation on Safe Drive and answered questions about road safety and road safety programs following his presentation, .

The Victorian Older Drivers’ Handbook was made available to all those in attendance.

The Victorian Older Drivers' Handbook aims to help older drivers to continue driving safely and to alert them to changes that may make it unsafe to continue driving.

The information in the handbook helps people to understand the changes that may be occurring as part of ageing.

Pauline Martin thanked Mr Rule for his enlightening and informative talk.

Ann Potter, a retired nurse and very enthusiastic volunteer, was inducted into the club by president, Margaret Woodford. Eight members will celebrate birthdays this month.

Members had the opportunity to attend a film afternoon on February 7, with afternoon tea to follow at Chickpea Cafe.

Dawn Hobbs was the lucky door winner.

Please note, Monday, April 9 will be the meeting date for that month only, due to Easter.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 5.

Murtoa will host an information day on Wednesday, April 18.

Please let the secretary know if you wish to attend.
