Bush takes out open age competition at Haven points tournament

GENEVIEVE Bush has continued her solid summer of tennis with a win in the 15-18 years old open section at the third junior points tournament for the summer at Haven. 

Bush knocked off Jacob Holm 6-4 in the final on Sunday to register the win. 

In the other results, Edmund Bush defeated Jordan Toll 6-2 in the under-14 boy’s singles final, Jordan Friberg defeated Connor Chivell 6-0 in the under-12 boy’s final, and Bailey Taylor defeated Archie Sudholz 6-5 in the under-10s. 

In the girl’s singles, Bethany Sudholz beat Emily Polack 6-3 in the under-14s final, Philippa Bush overcame Tahlia Thompson 6-2 in the under-12s, and Eliza Hobbs defeated Ella Thompson 6-2 in the under-10s. 

Tournament co-ordinator Dale Johnson said the tournament was a success.

“The day went really well and the weather was perfect. We had 70 entries across the board, so it was a busy day from the start,” he said.
