LEE Kernaghan will headline the 27th annual Lake Charlegrark Country Music Marathon at the weekend.
The country music marathon will also feature country band The Wolfe Brothers.
Other renowned names included in the line-up are Kiara Rodrigues and Graeme Hugo.
Music marathon committee secretary Lorraine Oliver said people from across Australia would travel to Minimay to see The Wolfe Brothers and Lee Kernaghan perform.
“Our president John Naylor had the brainwave to try to entice Lee to Lake Charlegrark because our numbers were dwindling,” she said.
“I think this is going to give us a big boost. John simply approached Lee’s manager and eventually they got back to us and agreed to come. We’re very lucky.”
Lee Kernaghan will perform after 8pm on Saturday. The Wolfe Brothers will perform before Lee Kernaghan and do a party show after the main act.
Mrs Oliver said a lot of planning and leg work has been put in to make this event perfect for country music lovers.
She said officially, the event started on Saturday and ended on Sunday – but she added there would be Friday night entertainment.
Mrs Oliver said Friday night’s line-up would include walk-up performances.
“A lot of people turn up early to set up at the lake. It’s a big event this year,” she said.
“It’s hard to estimate (on numbers) but I would probably say we normally get 2000 people attending.”
Live music starts at noon on Saturday and ends at 1am on Sunday.
Music resumes at 10am on Sunday and ends at 5.30pm.
Tickets cost $85 per person at the gate.
Mrs Oliver said catering was included in the price with a continuous barbecue, two bars, bacon and eggs on Sunday morning and catering from food businesses available to patrons.
“If you like country music, then you will love the weekend,” she said.
Campsites are available at the venue. Mrs Oliver said powered sites are booked on the foreshore of Lake Charlegrark.
“There is a spare paddock available for people who missed out on camping sites on the foreshore,” Mrs Oliver said.
