Nathan Barber, 23, was convicted in Ballarat Magistrates Court on Monday for travelling at 157km/h in a 100km/h zone.
Murtoa Sergeant Brendan Khan said the incident occurred between Rupanyup and Murtoa in September last year.
“He was ordered off the road for 12 months and received a $750 fine,” Sergeant Khan said.
“We want to highlight the absolutely disgraceful speed, and that these are the penalties people will receive if they do this.”
Sergeant Khan said Barber’s car was also impounded for 30 days after the incident.
