Adelaide’s Kyle Cheney and Freemantle’s Darcy Tucker were both included in their club’s squads, which competed last night in Adelaide.
Carlton’s Tom Williamson, Melbourne’s Tom McDonald and St Kilda’s Seb Ross were also included in their respective squads, which will compete in Friday’s leg of the tournament in Melbourne.
Sydney’s Jake Lloyd is in his team’s squad for Saturday’s AFLX competition in Sydney.
The tournament features a round-robin type group stage, with two pools competing on each night. Games are made up of two 10 minute halves and will be played on a soccer-shaped pitch.
The fast-paced game requires teams to have a shot at goal within 20 seconds of gaining possession.
At the end of each competition there will be a grand final on the night, with the top teams in each pool facing off.
The AFL season proper kicks off on Thursday March 22 with reigning premiers Richmond playing against Carlton at the MCG.
