At Rupanyup, the Dunmunkle Renegades Red side proved too strong for Homers Red. The home side had plenty of contributors with the bat. Blake Downer with 17, Bailey Young (28), Connor Weidemann (26), Chandan Thandi (16) and Rhyce Allen (20) all retired not out. Out of the five wickets the Renegades took when they bowled, three were run-outs in a grand fielding display.
At Taylors Lake, Horsham Saints scored of 7/115 to take the points against Homers Blue, who scored 4/92. Harry Freak top scored for the Saints with 21 not out. Andrew Taylor retired on 16, while Dylan Avery made 18 and Hugh Dougherty made 15. When the Saints bowled, it was Harry Freak and Dylan Avery who shone with two wickets each. Semi-finals start on Friday, when Dunmunkle Renegades will take on Homers Red and Homers White will square off against Horsham Saints.
The under 16.5 semi-finals got under way on Saturday.
At the Dimboola Road oval, Dunmunkle Renegades got off to a terrific start scoring 1/103 from their allotted overs. In reply, West Wimmera made 6/65, with Bailey Young taking 2/4 for the Renegades. For the Renegades, Jordan Delahunty and Logan Petering put on an opening partnership of 83 as they scored 48 not out and 31 respectively.
At Taylors Lake, the Horsham Saints have a slight advantage on 1/97 as opposed to Homers score of 3/61. For the Saints, Mitch Martin made 18. Not out were Corey Smith on 37 and Jackson Davidson on 32; these two smashed 30 runs from the last three overs. The sole wicket taker for Homers was Cooper Tyler.
When the Homers batted, it was Jett Hopper who led the way. He will continue this week on 26. Cooper Tyler made 17 and Will Drummond made 10. For the Saints, wickets were taken by Jye Walter (one) and Aiden Laffy (two).
