The group brought diverse experiences to the school with two teachers joining the staff straight out of university and the other two teachers coming from the arts and performing arts industries.
Debbie Moar will teach art and visual communication subjects. She said she had practical experience working in the art industry and hoped to share that knowledge with students.
Alice Langley will teach outdoor education, physical education and health. It was her first teacher position after graduating from university last year.
“It has been a busy start to the school year but staff and students have been welcoming and helpful,” she said.
Miss Langley said she enjoys teaching outdoor education because it shows another side of students in a different environment.
Matt Coleman will teach English and media. Mr Coleman returned to St Brigid’s College after completing his final university placement at the school last year. He hoped to bring his enthusiasm to the classroom and become a role model for his students.
Erin Boutcher will teach English and Drama this year. Ms Boutcher has brought a wealth of experience to the school with her experience as a performer. She said students have been eager to learn and very enthusiastic about the task set in class.
