Wimmera teams will compete in under 14 and under 17 competitions in practical events with hoses, hydrants and targets. Competitors need to hit their targets in the quickest possible time while demonstrating efficient operational skills.
Warracknabeal fire brigade captain Cameron Whelan said the teams are ready for two-days of competition.
The junior volunteers started training in November and have competed in various competitions in the lead up to the state championships.
“We always hope our teams will come away with a placing, but it is not the most important. We are hoping for clean runs and great teamwork,” he said.
Horsham fire brigade member David Hornsby said the team was fairly competitive with members competing in both team and individual events.
