Francis joins Molineaux at the helm with Sharon Fedke deciding her time coaching A Grade had come to an end.
“Georgia brings so much attacking knowledge. She can really work on that and I can help us defensively,” Molineaux said.
“We have matured a lot and really love playing together.”
Francis expected the coaching partnership would work well this year.
“I captained last year and Yolly coached so we have a good understanding of who does what,” she said.
Molineaux said continuing the development of the under-17 girls will be crucial in season 2018.
“We have lots of young juniors coming through the ranks showing they are capable of senior netball early,” she said.
The addition of Sarina Hose will also provide some more run into the Bombers’ squad.
“The inclusion of Sarnia will give us so much drive and speed through the mid-court as she is so fit, but also can help out in the defensive circle when we have players missing,” Molineaux said.
“We have also added Melissa Hoffman who brings a level head to the goal ring. What she lacks in height she makes up for in smarts.”
Noradjuha-Quantong made the semi-finals last season and featured in the grand final the season before that.
“Obviously to get to another A grade grand final would be fantastic, but we will be setting short term goals first to gel as a team and build from there towards finals,” Molineaux said.
Francis expected it to be a tough season ahead in a competitive league.
“It’s going to be hard. Everyone has stepped it up again this year,” she said.
“The likes of Pimpinio and Kalkee will be right up this year. It’s really going to be tough and you’re not going to have many easy wins.”
The Bombers will have a tough test to start the season, coming up against reigning champions Natimuk United away from home.
Q and A Yolly Molineaux
Who will you be looking at to have a big year?
Brooke Pay is our spiritual leader within the team, she provides a lot of support throughout the whole court. Lucy Brand will have her 2nd year in A grade, we are hoping that she can really own that GA bib now.
How will your coaching style change this year?
It won’t be changing too much, Georgia brings an added knowledge of attacking play and last year her leadership on and off the court shows she is ready for this position.
Who will be the teams to beat?
Hard to go past last years premiers Natimuk, I think their team remains relatively unchanged, but if Jo Taylor steps back into that GD bib they will be tough to beat again.
