Former principal Michael Briggs-Miller left the school at the end of last year.
Ms Twaddell said she grew up in Werribee before studying at Monash University.
She has an honours degree in Biological Science.
“I worked in Melbourne in a large corporate law firm for six years,” she said.
“I then returned to study at Melbourne University to gain a teaching degree.”
Ms Twaddell is no stranger to the region and has experience working in other Wimmera schools.
“I moved to Horsham in 2003 and I have lived there ever since,” she said.
“I was employed at Horsham College as a biology and science teacher, where I took on a number of leadership roles in both student management and curriculum development.
“I was also assistant principal at Horsham College for four years.”
Last year, Ms Twaddell was acting principal at Balmoral Community College for term one.
“I thoroughly enjoyed that experience,” she said.
“I then returned to Horsham College for the remainder of the school year in my assistant principal role.”
Ms Twaddell will be acting principal at Warracknabeal Secondary College for terms one and two.
She said she was enjoying the role so far.
“From the onset, the staff have made me feel very welcome,” she said.
“I am humbled to take on this position and I’m excited for the opportunities I can bring to the school.
“Our focus will be on teaching and learning to improve student outcomes and continuing our positive learning culture here at Warracknabeal Secondary College.”
The college has also welcomed three new staff members in 2018.
Janelle Phillips will teach music, Alysha Genn will teach English and humanities and Ruth McNamara will teach humanities, legal studies and languages.
The college also welcomed back Hayley Weir, who returned from leave.
