The pavilion, which is the former Rosebrook Restaurant, was moved to Horsham College’s Dimboola Road oval in 2016 and officially opened in September.
Horsham Aquatic Centre manager Sam Winter said the centre’s outside school hours care program moved from Horsham Primary School to the pavilion last week.
She said the move was due to the increased popularity of the childcare.
“We will now be able to offer children more activities and opportunities,” she said.
“This is a very exciting move for all staff and children.
“The same educators will be running the service, but we are now able to introduce new programs to the children such as Hook into Hockey and Milo Cricket.”
Ms Winter said the new pavilion allowed the childcare program to have access to a large indoor area as well as the oval.
Horsham Rural City Council recreation and sustainability manager Rhonda McNeil said the pavilion had been getting plenty of use since it opened.
“We’re exceptionally pleased with how it’s been going,” she said. “We have regular users who have gone in there such as the Jung Tigers Cricket Club, Horsham Hockey Club and Wimmera Umpires Association.
“We have also had a lot of other groups move to this new location – the Greater Western Victorian Rebels have been training there, and so have some of the female football teams.
“There has also been a lot of interest from the community for one-off events.
“The way the building is designed, the front half can be separate to the back, so we can have multiple users in there at once.”
Rosebrook Restaurant was originally at the Horsham Racecourse, but was moved out to the Horsham Golf Club in 2009 to be used as a temporary clubhouse following the Black Saturday bushfires.
It was relocated to Horsham College’s Dimboola Road oval in January 2016.
