The side’s strong bowling attack was too consistent for Jung Tigers after they elected to bat first at Horsham College.
Shannon Reddie and Craig Wilson ensured the Tigers were on the back foot from the start with two early wickets.
Gavin Stephenson showed a certain level of resistance despite the third and fourth wickets falling at the other end. He holed out off the bowling of Lachie Patching when he was on 33 to leave the side at 5-47.
Only Joe Pucek showed any further run-scoring ability. His unbeaten 30 helped the home side reach 105 before it was bowled out in the 44th over. Patching finished with 3-16 off his six overs.
Graeme Reddie made batting look much easier during the remaining 28 overs. He had blasted his way to 68 by the close of play, with the side well positioned at 2-99.
The battle between third and fourth is in the balance after the first day’s play at Noradjuha. The Bullants elected to bat first and found themselves in trouble at 7-89 before Brent Penny guided the recovery.
He dominated a 94-run eighth wicket partnership with Greg Trenery and eventually finished on 70 not out as his side set the Horsham Saints 194 to win.
Brad Sproule, Brock Hamerston and Mark Crafter each claimed three wickets.
Gary Davidson and Seb Dalgleish were unbeaten on 19 and 14 respectively after successfully negotiating the final 12 overs.
