A POWER outage in the first few hours of the 2018 Wimmera Machinery Field Days did little to deter visitors.

Field days committee president Peter Moore said it was a hectic start to the 56th annual event on Tuesday.
A blimp hit the power lines and caused an outage to the whole site, he said.
So we had a bit of excitement early, but it wasnt long until it all settle down.
Mr Moore said the power was out for about an hour and a half.
He said the outage meant many of the scheduled shows, demonstrations and presentation had to be postponed on Tuesday morning.
It mucked with the schedule, but once the power came back on, everything was running smoothly again, he said.
It was just one of those things we couldnt do much about there is always something that goes wrong early on Tuesday.
Mr Moore said he was looking forward to the final two days of the show.
He said crowds on Tuesday were steady across the day.
It looked like there was quite a few people out and about, he said.
Hopefully we attracted lots of people from out of town as well.
Its good to have the community support behind such an important event.
Mr Moore said there was a range of must-see events across the three days.
Federal Agriculture Minister David Littleproud will be on site on Wednesday to officially open the field days.
Mr Littleproud will also be at the Nationals stand in the Moore Exhibition Centre.
Mr Moore said the opening would be a highlight of the three days, as it was something that doesnt happen very often.
We also have a Tractorcade each day, which will run throughout the site, he said.
Mr Moore anticipated on Wednesday would be busy for family day.
We have George the Farmer performing live, which will attract a lot of children and families, he said.
We also have the motocross stunt team performing shows each day and regular shearing demonstrations.
There are so many things to see and do.
