Thanks to group president, Narelle, for forwarding details of their Creative Arts Exhibition to run this Saturday, March 17, 10am to 4pm, and Sunday between 10am and 2pm.
To be held at the Birchip Community Leisure Centre, the event will feature 800 plus exhibits. Some of our West Wimmera ladies will be judging prior to the opening. The small Mallee Group will also be participating in the exhibit entries. Morning, afternoon tea and lunch are available, entry is $10, which includes a cuppa.
News from the branches
Drung South: members will enjoy a coffee party to honour two members celebrating 80th birthdays. Competition results were: most unusual button, Marie Bergen, Cynthia Hill; small bloom, Janice Merrett, Marg Laverty.
Multiple bloom, Janice Merrett, Lorraine Baudinette and shrub, Marie Bergen, Jeanette Graetz. Vegetable, Marie Bergen and Janice Merrett.
Horsham May: reported a successful end to 2017, with a bingo night and raffle, raising a very worthwhile $1335 for charity. Approximately 200 people attended the night. A successful sausage sizzle also added to their fundraising efforts. The generosity of local businesses assisted greatly.
Central Wimmera branch: Murtoa will attend a movie and lunch, instead of their usual meeting on March 21, in Horsham for branch birthday celebrations. Competition will be a piece of green jewellery, no flowers. Murtoa meet on the third Wednesday of the month, 11.15am for 11.30am start, RSL Hall, shared lunch unless otherwise specified.
Dunmunkle: fourteen members enjoyed seeing part of a local lady's doll collection. Competitions: article of craft, E. Liersch; homemade sauce, A Hicks, M Murphy; lucky door prize, E Liersch; single bloom, Bev Pearl, Lorraine Krause; multiple bloom, R Landwehr, H Barry.
West Wimmera CWA Group will be running the barbecue at Bunnings, Horsham, Sunday, March 18.
