The college was a pilot school for a Koori inclusive school wide positive behaviours program for two years.
Student engagement and wellbeing year seven to nine assistant principal Megan Woolford said a state-wide attitude survey showed that the college was inclusive of Koori students, but the school intends to aim higher.
Miss Woolford said a curriculum review allowed the school to incorporate the input from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
“We have been guided with a Koori lens over our curriculum, behaviours and follow ups,” she said.
“The school has looked at how we can be more inclusive and make sure to include the broader context of Indigenous Australian culture, but also making sure its locally relevant to our region.”
A school-wide positive behaviour team was established, which is driven by the school’s leadership team and incorporates the voices of students and the wider community.
