Homers, fresh off a third-consecutive A Grade one-day premiership, will be hoping to edge towards completing the double as it takes on Laharum at Horsham’s City Oval.
Homers captain Jarred Combe said the side will be the same from the one-day grand final win last weekend.
“We will approach Laharum the same as we do any other team,” he said.
“Our team will stay the same as the one-day grand final.”
Combe said he hoped the side could improve its bowling, after a mixed performance in the one-day final.
“Our bowling was inconsistent Saturday night and that is something we need to address to restrict Laharum’s batsmen,” he said.
Laharum will need to contain Homers all-rounder Craig Britten, who performed with both the bat and ball in the side’s one-day win last week.
Britten was named man of the match after making 64 runs as well as taking five wickets.
He will again be important for the side as it looks to earn its place in the grand final.
In the other semi-final, Rup-Minyip will take on Horsham Saints, in what should be an even contest.
The last time the two teams met in round 12, it was a low-scoring affair, with the Saints just coming out on top.
Saints captain Tony Caccaviello said posting a score above 200 would be important against Rup-Minyip’s deep batting lineup.
“I reckon 220 runs would be about par,” he said.
“Anything above that we would be happy with, and anything below we would be up against it. They bat really deep, regardless of who is in and who is out. They have a lot of experience and a lot of players who have played in big matches.”
Caccaviello said he was eyeing one of his top four batsmen to make a big score.
“Matt and Justtin Combe and Austin Smith will bat at the top and be key towards the top of the order,” he said.
“Anyone in our top four must be looking to make some runs. We need someone in our top four to make a score about 80.”
Caccaviello said he was looking forward to the contest, with the two teams having plenty of good match-ups in recent history.
“It should be a really good game,” he said.
“If you look at the last 20 or so years, they have been the premier team of the competition. We have had some great tussles with them and they have probably won more than we have in the last few years, but it should be a really good game.”
