Horsham Angling Club staged its big fishing competition last weekend, attracting 1700 people.

Sixty per cent of those competing were visitors from areas outside of Horsham.
A nice yellow belly, weighing in at 2.458 grams, saw Catherine Gordon, of Colac, win the car.
Junior winner was Hunter Vonja, with a yellow 1.142. Hunter was the lucky winner of a kayak.
Edith Brennan also finished first in her division, with a yellow belly .664.
Heaviest carp for seniors went to Ray Fedley 3.990, while the junior division was won by D. Leersen, with a 2.900 carp.
The prize for the heaviest bag of carp was won by Chris Denton, with a total weight of 58,726 grams and 41 carp in total.
It was a great weekend, however, the fishing was very slow in the Wimmera River.
Fishing Report
Walkers Lake: is one spot where the redfin are biting.
Rocklands: is a huge hot spot for redfin and also some big carp.
Taylors Lake: is fishing slow.
Coming up
Horsham Angling Club will host the Rocklands Hynes Family Trophy competition.
The comp will start at midnight, Friday, March 23 and conclude at noon Sunday, March 25.
Registration and weigh in will take place at Hynes Lodge, Hynes Road, Glenisla. The event is sponsored by Wimmera Bolts and Fasteners.
