The side, which has only dropped one match all season, will take on Drung South in a 2017 grand final replay on Saturday.
If they can secure the win, it will be St Michael’s third premiership in a row.
Drung South has sat in second position on the ladder for most of the year and will look to put up a good fight against the defending champions.
However, St Michael’s only loss for the year came in round 16 against Haven, when their top two players Steffi and Jess McDonald were unavailable.
St Michael’s captain Chris Ellis said his side was fresh after having a week off.
“We’ve been training hard and we are fully prepared for a close game against a strong opposition,” he said.
“We will need to start well on Saturday – if we get the first few sets, I’m confident we can get the win.”
Ellis said the women in his side had dominated all year.
“Our number one and two women in Steffi and Jess McDonald have barely lost a set all year,” he said.
“Angela Nitschke and Kassie Peachey have also been really strong throughout the season”
Ellis said there had only been one change to his side in the past few years and he was confident they could make it three premierships in a row.
“We’ve had strong improvement from our players this year and we are looking forward to an evenly matched game,” he said.
Drung South captain Ben Brooksby said it would be a tough competition at the weekend, but his side was up for the challenge.
“St Michael’s is an extremely strong side and they have dominated all year,” he said.
“However, it’s finals and anything can happen in finals.
“It’s good going in as the underdogs – we will give it a good crack and we have nothing to lose.”
Brooksby said if his team could win some of the ladies’ sets, they stood a good chance.
“St Michael’s women are bloody good players and they are hard to beat,” he said.
“However, my girls are good too, so hopefully we can steal a few sets there.”
Brooksby said last year, his side were not strong enough to steal the premiership from St Michael’s.
“We have a slightly different team from last year though and we will try to improve on that result,” he said.
“We just need to go one better.”
Ellis and Brooksby both said they were looking forward to playing at Haven.
“I’m excited – it’s going to be a good day,” Brooksby said.
