The Tempest tells the story of quarreling survivors of a terrible shipwreck, who are washed up on a lonely shore and confronted by the embittered enchanter, his beautiful daughter, and their strange associates. 

Director and Ozact founder Bruce Widdop said the company started in 1995 with a production of the Tempest at Loch Ard Gorge.

“This tradition of producing Shakespeare in spectacular locations has continued for the past 21 years,” he said.

“The Grampians National Park has been our autumn home since our first year, and we are excited to bring The Tempest back as our production for this season’s tour of Shakespeare in the Grampians.”

Mr Widdop said the show would be at the Heatherlie Quarry.

The cast and crew includes Mr Widdop, along with Andy Delves, Matthew Young, Sorcha Breen, Michael Davidson, Kyle McDonald, William Lark, Luke Ingham, Eleanor Ruth, Kira Burnett and Lisa Widdop.

“This production is full of suspense, high drama and broad comedy, embellished with exquisite costumes,” Mr Widdop said.

Ozact will perform The Tempest on March 30, March 31, April 1 and April 7 at 3pm.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $30 for concession and $20 for children.

People should bring a cushion, appropriate clothing for the weather, water, sunscreen and insect repellent.
