The Demons turned to some of their younger players to get the job done at the weekend.
Laharum piled on the pressure from the first bounce kicking 5.6 (36) to 2.0 (12) in the opening term.
Tom Crawford, five goals, and Liam Nuske, four, were the top goal kickers for the Demons on the day in what turned into an 11-goal first half from the home side.
Laharum managed a further 12 goals in the second half but Taylors Lake kept fighting throughout the day and scored its highest total for the season.
Demons coach Robbie Miller said it was a pleasing performance from his side.
“The boys contributed over four quarters, which was good,” he said.
“It wasn’t our best overall performance for the season but it was a good one. We let them get some easy goals, which was disappointing.
“They are a young side and pretty quick and can hurt you if they find some space.”
Miller praised the efforts of the young Demons who were brought in for the contest.
“Some of our blokes weren’t willing to lay some tackles but the under-17s who came up didn’t look out of place at all,” he said. “It’s good to see these young guys who are Laharum born and bred get games under their belt and keep improving.”
Cam Streeter was named best on for Laharum and Trae Martin for Taylors Lake.
