With two medals hanging around his neck, Lakin said only one truly mattered.
“I’ve got two medals but it’s the premiership medal that matters the most, I don’t care about the best on ground one,” he said.
“I thought a few guys could have gotten it today.”
15-year-old Horsham forward Ben Hobbs was named best under-21 player for his efforts on a memorable day for the young star in his first senior flag.
Hobbs put plenty of pressure on the Giants and popped up for a goal in the final quarter as the Demons ran away with the win.
