The funding comes through the Recreational Fishing Large Grants Program and encompasses two separate grants.
$110,000 was awarded to Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water to connect the Rainbow and Yaapeet Lakes.
Meanwhile, a further $24,921 has been provided to Hindmarsh Shire Council to build separate pedestrian and vehicle access points to the new recreational fishing lake in Rainbow.
A Victorian government spokesperson said that the Victorian Fishing Authority would stock these two lakes with native species such as silver perch and golden perch.

A Victorian government spokesperson said that the Rainbow and Yaapeet funding is just one of several projects expanding opportunities for recreational fishing in the region.
"The Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) and Better Boating Victoria have recently provided numerous grants to improve boating and fishing opportunities across the Grampians, Wimmera and Southern-Mallee."
"We encourage local clubs in the region to apply for these grants, which are open year-round for applications up to $50,000."
In addition to the works at Rainbow and Yaapeet, Better Boating Victoria provided $10,000 for improvements at Lake Bellfield and $20,700 to plan upgrades for Rocklands Reservoir, Lake Lonsdale and Toolondo Lake.
