Horsham College year nine students Luke Busbridge, Georgia Maroske and Bailey James have arranged the event on June 14.
The students have called on people to enter a short video, about two to five minutes long, about Horsham.
Videos can be about the city’s history, admirable residents, or what the filmmaker likes about the community.
“It is a good way to promote the city,” Georgia said.
Luke said people of all ages could enter the free event.
He encouraged people to visit Horsham Film Festival’s website for more information at horshamfilmfestival.weebly.com.
The group developed the event as part of their community project.
“It was just something different from what the others were doing,” Luke said.
Entries close on Monday.
The films will be screened at Wimmera Trade Training Centre.
