Department of Education spokesman Simon Craig confirmed the building at the alternative campus could not be salvaged.
“The department is preparing to demolish the fire-affected building and is working with the college and the regional office on future accommodation options,” he said.
The building was home to the school’s Alternative Settings program for disengaged students.
Following the fire, students were moved to the school’s Baillie Street campus.
