Australia’s five-game winning streak to start the tournament came to an end when the team fell short to the United States in its final group stage game in South Korea.
A 15-4 second quarter ultimately proving the difference.
The tournament’s top scorer was at it again, with Shaun Norris from the Australian Rollers, posting a game-high 28 points to go with six rebounds in the 10-point defeat.
The United States raced out of the blocks to start the second half, establishing a 19-point lead midway through the third quarter.
The final score was 67-57.
Due to Australia’s five consecutive wins prior, they are guaranteed it a place in the quarter finals.
A win would see them finish in the top two of their second group and give them an easier quarter-final draw.
The Rollers' next opponent at the quarter final stage is yet to be confirmed.
