Last time they met: Round 2, 2014. Laharum 37.16 (238) d Taylors Lake 8.7 (55).
TAYLORS Lake is hoping for a big improvement on its last meeting with Laharum when it visits Cameron Oval on Saturday.
The Lakers conceded 37 goals and lost by 183 points when they hosted the Mountain Men in round two.
Taylors Lake coach Deek Roberts labelled the performance a ‘complete abortion of the game plan’ by his side.
He said the team would be searching for a vast improvement at the weekend.
“The last time we played them was absolutely the worst performance of the season,” he said.
“We need to concentrate on going at the footy and having a little bit more respect for our opponents this time.
“We’ve all been waiting to make amends for round two.
"It’s a long way back to win it, but I want to see a 10- times-better effort from the boys.”
Roberts said the team was feeling fresh from a week off, but he would not decide on any changes until last night’s training session.
Laharum coach Shannon Argall said his side had also benefited from the week off, with Rhys Bennett, Brenton Askew and Hamish Roberts set to be included.
He said spearhead Dylan Parish was also on the road to recovery after breaking his collarbone in round six.
Argall said Parish was likely to resume training within a week, and would be monitored until he was ready to return.
He said the Mountain Men needed to quickly recapture the form that carried them to 12 straight wins.
“We’re certainly looking to build momentum again after a week off,” he said.
“Taylors Lake was looking for a good show against us in round two, but being undisciplined and playing the man really cost them in the end.
“I think they’ll be trying to put in a better performance this week.”
