Gabrielle Buelle, who starred as Jane Duff, and the film’s writer and director Peter Dodds will speak at Wesley Performing Arts Centre before the 7pm screening.
Wimmera Regional Library Corporation support services manager Ros Ryan said the event would be like a reunion.
“We’ve invited as much of the cast as possible and it will be a great opportunity for them to catch up and reminisce,” she said.
Ms Ryan said the library sought permission from the education department to show the film.
“The department made the film in 1973 featuring local actors,” she said.
“It was made virtually on location where everything happened.
“The film hasn’t been shown in years, so it will be great.”
Copies of the Lost in the Bush DVD will be available from Wimmera Regional Library Corporation branches for $5.
Ms Ryan said the library had a range of activities planned throughout the nine-day Lost in the Bush commemoration.
She said Tuesday night’s legacy talk featuring journalist and author Martin Flanagan would be a highlight.
The library is also hosting a creative writing competition through the region’s primary schools.
More than 80 entries have been received and the winner will be announced at a Found Day picnic on August 20.
Ms Ryan will contribute to a daily blog from Tuesday until Found Day, detailing Lost in the Bush celebrations.
She said people could read the blog at http://wimmera-w-b-w.blogspot.com.au.
