The bicycle is part of the group’s Spirits of the Past, World War One Military History and Heritage exhibition.
Warracknabeal’s Alan Bandy donated the bike and RSL member Peter Creek spent several weeks restoring it to its former glory.
RSL vice-president Jim Amos said cyclists in the war would be one of the big features of the exhibition.
‘‘Quite a number of Wimmera soldiers served in the Anzac Cyclist Battalion,’’ he said.
Mr Amos said one story that would feature was that of Murtoa’s Lieutenant Thomas Archibald Slaughter.
He said Lt Slaughter won the Military Cross and Bar for his gallantry.
‘‘It is believed he was one of the 200 officers and men of the 4th Light Horse, who transferred to the 1st Anzac Cylist Battalion and went on to become the Regimental Sergeant Major of the Battalion,’’ he said.
‘‘He then attended officer training school and was promoted to lieutenant and transferred to the 58th Infantry Battalion and saw action on the western front.’’
Mr Amos said a number of aspects of the war would feature in displays, including The Australian Flying Corps, the Gallipoli submarine AE2 and The Light Horse Battalion.
Horsham RSL will host the exhibition from April 19 to 26.
