Serial entrepreneur Justin Webb conceived AgriWebb after a family history in livestock production, including in western Victoria.
“I come from five generations of farming and grazing,” he said.
“My family comes from Quilpie in Queensland, through Deniliquin and Jerilderie in NSW,”
While Mr Webb didn’t grow up on a farm, he said when the time came to take responsibility for property management, he found himself starved of a concise database of information.
That led to the development of SaleYard, an online trading platform for livestock.
It also led to the development of NoteBook, which provides an end-to-end solution with supply chain transparency.
“It is a striking departure from just a few years ago,” Mr Webb said. “Back then, farmers had to travel to their far-flung fields, scribble such data in notebooks and input it into hardtouse software that resided on a specific desktop computer.
“The AgriWebb app allows farmers to enter the information on their mobile devices and to share it easily with others via the web.
“Certain bits of information are gathered and saved automatically by the AgriWebb app, saving farmers time and miles.
“Information gathered includes weight gains, inventory movements, task assignment and reproductive rates.”
AgriWebb’s Will Daley said staff hoped to meet as many customers, and potential users of the software, as possible at the Wimmera Machinery Field Days.
“It’s not only a chance to meet new customers, to see if they have any questions and queries,” he said.
“It’s also a chance to see what they would like, so we can build things that the market wants.”
