Penola club secretary Tanya Robbie told the Naracoorte Herald the Eagles had been able to pull off the recruiting opportunity through an ex-club member, who was also a good friend of Lloyd’s.
Lloyd was a gun forward for the Bombers before retiring in 2009 and pursuing a media career.
Lloyd’s career highlights include finishing as the seventh-highest goal kicker in VFL-AFL history, three Coleman Medals as AFL leading goal kicker, AFL life membership, as well as winning both the Mark of the Year and Goal of the Year awards.
The two sides expect a large turnout for the clash at Penola.
Kaniva-Leeor United face a stiff challenge against Penola, with the Eagles on top of the Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League ladder.
Penola is currently on 28 points, while Kaniva-Leeor United is on four points in ninth position on the ladder.
In other round 10 action, Border Districts will tackle Kingston. Kingston sits in 11th position and Border Districts 10th, with four points separating the two sides.
