Rainbow Cricket Club is in recess this season but remains a financial member of the association and hopes to return to field a team in the the 2017-18 season.
With the reduced number of teams there will be only six rounds this season.
Each team will play each other in one one-day fixture and one two-day fixture.
The grand final is scheduled for the first weekend of March and will conclude the season.
It is one-day fixtures in the first round of the season and Nhill will host Jeparit at Davis Park in a grand final grudge match.
Nhill won the title last year but the Jeparit side will look to quickly put that behind it with a win first up.
Winiam will take on Kiata at Winiam in the opening round’s other match.
