Committee member Tess Healey said the 2016 event was shaping up to be one of the best yet.
“It’s going to be a ripper,” she said.
“The crops look incredible, it’s a fantastic change given the last few years. It’s really given everyone a boost.
“We’re prepared and very excited it’s coming together beautifully.”
Miss Healey said this year’s event had a focus on Wimmera produce.
She said the catering would focus on pulses to celebrate the Year of the Pulse, while a Wimmera brewery and vineyard would have their goods on offer early in the day.
Miss Healey said while the event was a great opportunity for residents to get together, it also brought visitors to the area.
“It sort of sells itself. Once someone comes, they then spread the word,” she said.
“I’d say we have a higher number of out-of-towners and new faces. I think it boosts the profile of country opportunity.
“The country can look a bit stale from the outside, whereas this is a good way to show those beyond the radius that if you dig a little deeper there’s a lot below the surface.”
Miss Healey said Woodward and Seven Car Pile Up would provide musical entertainment.
