Secretary Ann Stevens said the auxiliary presented hospital clinical service manager Don McRae with a $40,450 cheque. Mrs Stevens said the group was ecstatic to help purchase hospital equipment. “The hospital is very important to all of the Wimmera,” Ms Stevens said. “People who come to the parade come because it’s a day out, but also to raise money for the hospital.
“Most people who come have been in the hospital themselves, or had a child or grandchild born there.” Mrs Stevens said 124 guests attended and more than $3000 was raised during the parade. She said Tony Lawrence and his wife Cynthia entertained the crowd during the Hawaiian-themed day. “It was a wonderful parade,” Mrs Stevens said.
“Thanks to everyone who made it such a success.”
