The side’s first game was against Metropolitan North West, where it came away with a comfortable victory on Wednesday. The Waves made 208 while North West could only manage 77.
North West won the toss and opted to bat first.
Jeparit’s Ruby James took two wickets while Macey Laverty of Dimboola took a great catch.
The side took nine wickets in restricting North West.
The Waves players were strong with the bat, with four of the first five batsmen retiring. Kaniva’s Pippa Munn made three before retiring while Laverty made eight not out. The side faces Metro Northern and Metro West in rounds three and four.
