A successful businessman and tireless community worker, Mr Harris has actively worked to bring new businesses to the area and to attract professionals and tradespeople to Donald.
Donald’s industrial estate, Kooka’s Cookies, Australian Eat Well and the travellers rests at Charlton and Sea Lake are lasting legacies of Mr Harris’ hard work.
“Graeme’s progressive approach has always sought investment and economic growth, while at the same time focussing on jobs and community resilience. He is truly deserving of being named citizen of the year”, mayor David Pollard said.
Wycheproof’s Mary-Anne Pollard was named the shire’s young citizen of the year. Mary-Anne is about to embark on her year 12 studies and was the first person selected to represent Wycheproof and Buloke in the Sunraysia Regional Academy of Sport.
Back to Berriwillock was named the community event of the year.
