A explosion heard in Richmond on Thursday afternoon has left investigators scratching their heads.
A Metropolitan Fire Brigade spokesperson confirmed a loud bang was heard about 5.45pm near the Amora Hotel. However, no one was injured and no property was damaged.
When firefighters arrived, they found a patch of burnt grass at the scene. The explosion appeared to have occurred in some bushes close to the hotel.
A Victoria Police spokesman said authorities were still trying to confirm what caused the loud bang.
"The exact cause of the explosion is still being investigated, but it is believed to be an isolated incident," he said.
